Why is Vault being discontinued?

When moving from CDs to an online platform years ago, providing an offline learning solution for members was a highly-requested feature. In the years of Vault’s existence, the member demand for offline learning and the number of Vault viewers has drastically declined. As devices have become more connected and internet growth continues around the world, we’re working hard to maximize the online learning experience.

Vault was built on the Adobe AIR platform, which was chosen for its cross-platform capabilities, to give everyone the opportunity to download videos to watch offline. Over time, however, members have encountered problems installing and using Adobe AIR, leading to issues outside of our team’s control, resources spent on troubleshooting instead of training and frustrated members. With Vault access ending, we will be able to focus on improving the highly-used aspects of our site, growing our training library, and bring more value to your Digital-Tutors membership.

When will the ability to download Vault and training through Vault end?

Beginning March 1, 2012, Vault and all training will no longer be downloadable. You will be able to watch videos downloaded before March 1 until March 31, 2012.

When will Vault support end?

Vault technical support will end March 31, 2012.

Can I still access training on-the-go?

Yes. You can access training using the iPad and iPhone app and/or via a browser on flash-supported devices. We are also currently working on optimizing a mobile player.

We’ll miss Vault too!

A lot of dedicated team members have worked on the creation and support of Vault over the past two years. While letting this added feature retire, we’re extremely excited about continuing to improve the online learning experience for Digital-Tutors members, such as the enhanced website player, and welcome any feedback.
