I have created a galleon style boat that I now would like to animate. I've use a "motor boat" and a MEL script I found in the Maya help files to be able to navigate the boat using my keyboard to control the throttle and the rotter.

Now I would like to add a wake and some wind to interact with my sails. The only link I was able to find was for the paddle boat. I tried to incorporate what I learned there, but  failed.

The effect I want is the wake that the boat creates as the front of the boat cuts through the water, splashes as it rock back and forward. The wake that it leaves behind I was able to accomplished thanks to the Paddle boat tutorial.

I would appreciate any help on my project, the idea I have in mind is to learn this techniques and create an other boat than attempt to create a sea battle with canon balls flying.
